A new study finds that, for women, the extra large condom is more comfortable than the standard, medium, or small condom.
The findings suggest that some women may prefer a large condom over the smaller, less comfortable one.
Women who have used more than one size are more likely to choose a large.
Researchers from Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of California, Berkeley surveyed more than 20,000 women about the types of condoms they prefer.
Researchers found that women who had used condoms for more than two years tended to prefer the standard and medium sizes.
They also found that people who used condoms regularly were more likely than people who never used condoms to prefer a larger size.
But when researchers analyzed data from women who used the same type of condoms twice, they found that only the large sizes seemed to provide a greater comfort.
People who have previously used condoms twice are more inclined to choose the larger size, according to the researchers.
Researchers also noted that women with prior experience with condoms and previous knowledge of the characteristics of the condom may have a greater chance of choosing a larger condom.
In a separate study, women who were less comfortable with the size of their current condoms were also more likely overall to choose to buy a condom with the larger condoms, according the researchers, who noted that the research could help prevent sexually transmitted diseases.
