The South African government is urging people to get their condoms free.
The country’s health ministry says that it is offering free condoms to people with HIV.
People who do not have HIV will have to pay a fee.
The ministry says the condoms are also for use at the government offices, as well as in the home and at community centres.
It says people who do have HIV are being asked to avoid the needle or syringe and to avoid sharing needles with people who are not HIV-positive.
The announcement comes as the South African HIV crisis continues to worsen.
On Tuesday, the number of new HIV infections in South African hospitals reached a staggering 6.8 million, according to the country’s national HIV-prevention and control agency.
